Here at Novo, we’re always looking to lend a helping hand. We’ve taken root in the five locations that house our Novo offices, Georgia, Indiana, Nevada, Oklahoma, and South Carolina, and are happy to reach out to the people in each of these areas to give back in the ways that we can.
2019 was one of our best years at Novo, and of those “bests” was the amount of time and support we were able to donate to the communities we’re proud to be part of.
This year put much of our focus in our annual School Supplies For the Kids In Our Lives program, donating over 500 school supplies items to schools, organizations, and families.
Our outreach didn’t stop there in 2019. Last year, we were also grateful to sponsor, donate, and participate in other programs and give back to our team members and their communities.
Here’s a closer look at the success we had in our community outreach efforts in 2019.
School Supplies For The Kids In Our Lives Program
The School Supplies For the Kids In Our Lives program is Novo’s very own community outreach program. Within this program, we focus on getting school supplies in the hands of students in need and giving them the proper tools to have a successful education.
In the midst of back-to-school events, each team member at Novo receives a backpack filled with school supplies and team members are also encouraged to choose organizations that they stand for that the Novo team can donate to together.
The one backpack each team member is given is donated by them to a child in their own lives. Then, our team gets out and distributes backpacks together to the charitable organizations our Novo team members have chosen.
The School Supplies For the Kids In Our Lives program was established in 2013 at our Ardmore, Oklahoma facility, and began by providing new backpacks and school supplies to the children of our team members. After seeing such success and gratitude our first go-around, every one of Novo’s locations now participates.
Since the launch of the program in 2013, Novo and our team members have provided over 3,000 backpacks and school supplies to the children in our communities. And we’re proud to say we chose some great organizations to give back to this year too.
Here’s a look at the organizations and community programs we donated to in 2019.
DFS
Dean’s Future Scholars (DFS) is an academic outreach program located at the University of Nevada, Reno. They focus on increasing the high school graduation rate of low-income, first-generation students in the northern Nevada area.
We Donated: 7 backpacks and school supplies donated to team members in the Reno area and 30 backpacks and school supplies to DFS last year.
Richburg Elementary School System And DSS
The Richburg Elementary School System is located near our South Carolina location. Their local police department distributes our donations to children in the school district when DSS removes those children from their homes.
We Donated: 55 backpacks and school supplies donated to team members in the Richburg area and 30 backpacks and school supplies to the Richburg Elementary School System and DSS.
Impact Kidz
Impact Kidz is a ministry organization in South Carolina that’s focused on connecting children from diverse backgrounds, bringing them together to explore their beliefs.
We Donated: 245 backpacks and school supplies donated to team members in the area and 34 backpacks and school supplies to Impact Kidz
Ford Elementary School
We gave back to one of our local schools, Ford Elementary School, making sure their children were equipped with supplies for the new school year.
We Donated: 51 backpacks and school supplies donated to team members and 30 backpacks and school supplies to Ford Elementary School.
The Boys and Girls Club and Ardmore Children’s Shelter
The Boys and Girls Club focuses on providing resources to help build better futures for children. The Ardmore Children’s Shelter is on a mission to empower and advocate for children and families who are at risk in the South Central Oklahoma area. The Children’s Shelter offers temporary shelter, counseling, and other services to adolescents in need of support.
We Donated: 193 backpacks and school supplies donated to team members in the South Central Oklahoma area and 30 backpacks and school supplies to The Boys and Girls Club and Ardmore Children’s Shelter.
The Burmese Community Center
The Burmese Community Center, located in Indianapolis, IN, works to educate their community about the diversity in the area brought to them by Burmese ethnic groups.
We Donated: 18 backpacks and school supplies donated to team members in the Indianapolis area and 30 backpacks and school supplies to The Burmese Community Center in Indianapolis, IN.
Our 2019 Total!
The Novo team also donated 21 additional backpacks and school supplies donated to team members across the company and 60 backpacks and school supplies to other charitable organizations.
In total, we donated 835 backpacks and school supplies in 2019. What a great year for community outreach!
Other 2019 Community Outreach Activities
Outside of our own charitable programs organized right here at Novo, our team donated and volunteered at many other community events and organizations throughout the 2019 year.
Corporate Fitness Challenge: Through the Ardmore Corporate Fitness Challenge, Novo team members participated in last year’s fitness challenge, and we were a proud sponsor of the challenge.
Boy Scouts Golf Tournament: Novo sponsored the 2019 Boy Scouts golf tournament, benefiting the Boys Scouts of America organization.
FFA and 4H Golf Tournament: Novo was a proud sponsor of the 2019 FFA and 4H Golf Tournament in the summer of last year.
Ardmore Parade Of Lights: The community of Ardmore, OK saw the Novo team at the nighttime Christmas parade at December’s Ardmore Parade of Lights.
Girls on the Run: Girls on the Run, an organization teaching girls about their power and purpose, was also part of Novo’s charitable donations in 2019.
Michelin Charity Golf Tournament: The Novo organization was a sponsor of the 30th Anniversary Michelin Charity Golf Tournament, and lended a hand in raising over $5.7 million for charities across the U.S. for 30 years.
Other Charitable Organizations of 2019: In addition to all of the proud sponsorships and donations Novo made, we also played our part in giving back in the following ways:

- Participated in the Boys and Girls Club Cioppino Feed
